Thanksgiving

I'm HOME!!!!!!! I love being home I love the feeling of plopping down on my couch next to my mom and chatting while watching the hills and other trashy TV shows. There is nothing better after a stressful 8 and a half weeks at school! I basically haven't sat still since the quarter started! Between figuring out where to apply for grad schools, studying for the cset, and trying to make it through my most challenging quarter of college yet life has just been a blur... fortunately I now get to spend some much needed time with family and friends, eating tons of food, and prepping for the Christmas frenzy!! I'm so excited !!!!!

Chocoholic

What my dreams are made of

When I'm in back to back classes what do i do ...eat chocolate
when I have a late night at work ...eat chocolate
when I feel stressed out... eat chocolate
when I have a girls day/ night
when I work on grad school applications
when it rains outside
when I need sleep
when I feel bored
when I'm sick
When I'm healthy
when I'm sad
or celebrating
Basically any excuse I can possibly come up with to have chocolate
I'm a full blown addict and eating on campus just makes it worse. chocolate is so available at every meal there it is taunting me with its sweet melty goodness. So much mouth watering goodness how could I be expected to resist! I seriously consider replacing all of my food with chocolate! ( do you think i could get away with that if the chocolate looked like other foods like those chocolate oranges instead of real fruit?) I'm trying to be strong and keep a handle on my chocolate fixing and currently limiting my intake ( to the best my weak will can handle) and making time for the gym when possible! heres hopping I dont end up turning into a chocolate bunny before easter!

Back to it

So this past week was the beginning of my senior year and probably the craziest start I have had in these past four. My schedule got completely rearranged and I scrambled to get my internship settled and still have a few details to work out but the end point is aside from a senior project and post grad plans to figure out I'm on my way to graduating in June with a relatively easy course load ahead! Its going to be a busy year but its all in the details and fortunately I think I might finally have those down!

Other than the classes I have been getting to know my residents and got to go home this weekend. It was Katie's families annual bacci ball party and it was a blast. Yes, my team did get out in the first round but I totally dominated in a later game! and besides i got to spend time with my wonderful family (sans Aubrey :( ) and see my fake family (ie. lenore, mimi and jude) so all in all it was a great week!

Heading Out

if only i could travel so lightly and so stylishly

The summer is wrapping up and now is that wonderful time where i start sorting through my entire life which is scattered around my room. It will be hours of "do i really need this?" and "where did i put that?", followed by" can i fit that there?" and one long game of luggage tetras next sunday morning as i try to shove everything in the car. It's a daunting task but someone has got to do it!

seriously?

Alright Flo Rida, I supported you when you were looking for some apple bottom jeans and desired to get low, when her lips where like sugar, and even when you decided to have your head spin right round but I think you have crossed some lines with you new song which you totally adapted off a series of lines from anchorman! I mean seriously "I'm gonna send this thought your way and if you don't like it send it back my way but i just got to say i want to be on you" I think we all remember that little meeting with Veronica Corningstone how could you figure we forgot or wouldn't notice?!

turning 21... or 5...

Tuesday was my big 21 and in an effort to avoid all maturity i packed up and headed to Disneyland!!!!!! best decision ever!!! Sunday after church I packed up the jeep ( the bug was broken and so no air conditioning woot woot!) and drove down the coast landing in SLO in the late afternoon, everyone hung out had dinner and i watched Mat help Greg move in (I was apparently too weak) we all crashed early that night and the next morning me and Katie made my birthday cake! It was beyond epic in appearance and taste!
neon food coloring made all the difference!

Then we packed up Katie's car ( yay air conditioning!!! and hybrid gas millage) and headed down to San Diego to stay at Scott's house. Our car ride was full of chippotle, nineties music, and silly conversation who could ask for anything more!! we got down there at 10:20 and hurried to get to bed! after a restless night (too much excitement!) we all got up and got ready and drove north towards Disney magic!on our way down

we got there at 9 30, sun screened up, and headed for California adventure!! Mat had never been in that park and we hit all the best rides! We started with the new toy story ride in which you compete on all these games where everyone schooled me but i sucked at duck hunt so thats easy too imagine... then we did California screamin, that horrific ferris wheel, Muppet's 3D ( I'm so muppet obsessed its scary), tower of terror, and finished up with soarin!!! it was fantastic but the best was yet to comewe're really just goofs

Disney magic = fake backdrop?

There is nothing like the walk into Disneyland to awaken the child in you and we did space mountain, haunted mansion, Indiana Jones, small world, the jungle cruise, pirates of the Caribbean, the Alice in wonderland ride, small world, the tikki room where we ate my beloved dole whip! and watched the fireworks over the castle it was amazing!!! at around 10:30 we left the park and said goodbye to Scott and me mat and Katie piled back in her car and headed to SLO we stopped for in and out and the bathroom a couple times but other than that it was a strait shot! Katie beyond the beyond awesome person she is drove the entire way back while Mat and I attempted to trade off sleeping ( neither of us are as strong as Katie) we made it back at 3:30 and crashed! I'm not sure I have ever been so tired!Dole whip!!!

the gang waiting for fireworks!

I woke up the next morning ate some more birthday cake, packed up, and drove back home, getting back just in time to figure out what i have to do for house sitting and have a half hour break before work! It was such a jam packed few days but worth every second!!!

some a summer

Sorry to be such a lame blogger over this summer but apparently I'm easily distracted... Anyways here is the quick update on the events in my life over the past monthish...

So Aubrey got married as many of you witnessed and have already read about so the beginning of my summer was filled with family coming into town and last minute wedding prep and amazing wonderful times with jaicy my fourth sister!!! we rushed about town talked late at night, she tackled me for my phone, you know all the good stuff!! It was so much fun hanging out with her and Kelly's fam for a week!!!
Then came the wedding!! It was beautiful every little detail was perfectly mastered we laughed and cried and danced the night away! Aubrey looked so gorgeous and she and Phil could not of been happier! I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful sister and to have gained such a great big brother!
I loved spending time with family and friends and ended the night with my feet in the swimming pool, aloe on my sunburned back, shoving chocolate raspberry wedding cake into my mouth with my cousin and family could there be a better finale!
Then came the fourth of July Mat came up for the weekend with Katie and the family did the parade thing as usual and in an wondrous turn of events have inherited all these kids through aubs marriage and got to spend that time with them! Its so great to be with kids and experience those things through there eyes! they are so excited and appreciate it all so fully! we spent the rest of the day with the Greenan clan swimming, playing baseball ( yes I played in fact got a base hit even though Mat totally let me and wont admit it :) ) and watching the fireworks! o and did i mention enjoying this American flag cake me and Katie and mat made!!! I'm shamelessly proud of that but all in all an amazing weekend

Then last weekend I went down to San Luis for the weekend to visit Mat and Katie and Nick! We went to a concert where Sherwood was totally beyond awesome! spent time on the beach had some bbq fun caught up with my RA friends and me and Mat went on our first actual date! It was so much fun and totally us my car battery died while we were out and we had to change our plans a few times but we smiled our way through it and mat got to feel really heroic jumping my car so I couldn't ask for a better time :)

Those are the weekend highlights at least! and during the week I'm spending my time working for this lovely family...watching those two beyond gorgeous children!! seriously I am the luckiest girl in the world!!!

crazy mixed up week of doom

SO it's the end of another quarter which means its the end of life as I know it. Along with a slew of finals I also have the joys of packing up my entire life to travel back to Danville with me in, what proves to be, the most epically full car ride anyone has ever experienced. For the next few days my life will be consumed for with studying for two finals checking out about 30 residents and tearing my room down. The shinny light at the end of the tunnel though is that in 5 days I will get to see my family in 8 days brett comes home in 9 days kelly and fam come in from virgina in 11 days molly and steve get married and in 18 days aubrey gets married!!!!! Looks like i will have a rockin start to summer!

One Month!

SO two years ago my best friend, since 14, Brett went on his mission. It was crazy weird adjusting to him being gone! We have written letters and sent packages( well really I send packages although he did send me missionary supplies and a Florida flag for my birthday last summer) Anyways it's been really strange not having him around, but...He will be home in one month!!!!! That's right June 17th and I can't wait!!!!! It's amazing how fast two years can go! I'm so excited to just be able to to talk to him on the phone its ridiculous, so the fact that i get to see him in a month is amazing! So that's the joy of my night!!!

RIP Runt

So for those of you who don't know runt is my trusted and beloved fish! He had been with me since the first week of school when my surrogate little brother Aaron won him for me at the schools block party. (Aaron has a fish fear he is working on and i like to think this is the act that inspired him) Anyways Runt and I went through a lot this year I almost killed him countless times by not changing his water or almost dropping him when I did. He even suffered from that black spotted fish disease that they get from stress but we worked through that, and he had been healthy for quite some time. but the other morning i woke up and greeted him like usual and he was swimming on his side and obviously not looking good. I knew his water was clean and there was still food in his bowl so there was nothing i could do and runt finally met his maker. I had to flush him all by myself and i did so in my favorite stall in the bathroom and haven't really been able to use that toilet since.... I'm hoping i will be able to soon cuz its the one that's always not clogged. Anyways my room just doesn't feel the same without him who knew such a little fish would have such a big impact!

The wrong time to be sick

So I've been getting sick for a couple weeks now but a few days ago it decided to explode into its full potential. My nose began to run without ceasing and I started coughing things all over the place and my voice is all crocky and disgusting. So I broke down and went to the health center. Fortunately our school is only mildly freaked about the swine flu ( total lie I have gotten 4 emails about it in the past two days) I arrived there and was greeted by a girl in a mask who asked if I had any of the following symptoms: fever, cough, sore throat, or vomiting. Now my question is why on earth would visit the health center if I didn't have any of those symptoms! so of course I answered yes and then was required to sanitize my hands and put on a lovely mask and went into the waiting room. I sat for forty minutes breathing my already used air creating a swamp atmosphere in my dumb mask. The worst part being that I could not deal with my fountain of snot or any of the things I was coughing up because I was not allowed to take off the stupid mask, a major design flaw! Then finally was called in and told I have a cold, just your average cold... so there goes an hour of my life and my dignity! thanks a lot swine flu!

spring in full bloom

SO I have been majorly slacking on my blog life and here is a quick update on my life. I had Easter fun back home with my amazing family. We saw Brianna run at Davis and did the whole Easter day norms at our house and grandma's with these really cute cupcakes me and my mom made . Then back to school for a week then a trek back to Danville for Chelsea's wedding!
A weekend with all these lovely ladies from high school and beautiful Chelsea getting married was so amazing!!! We had so much fun, first the bacheloret party in all its glory with Kim's mom's wonderful better than sex cake, and an amazing slide show Lauren made which we watched 3 times almost 4 ... Kim's mom missed the first two times so... but amazing every time.
Then we woke up early and i brought extra bobby pins to my mom who was doing Chelsea's hair. Got ready rushed to Kim's got dressed with the rest of the girlies and headed to the temple where we waited for chels and took like a million pictures of ourselves. We all cried when she came out and took more pictures then on to the lunch, with a few quick trips for embarrassing car decorations and finally to the reception where we danced the night away!!! Seriously one of the most fun weekends ever!! I love weddings and can't wait for more this summer well that brings you up on recent events but I will blog again soon since that's the major highlights of six weeks!

Confessions of a Girl night

So one thing you may not know about me is I love B movies! you know those chick flicks with the predictable stories that always follow the same path and end with the same love story? I love a happy ending and thus am an obvious suckers for these sub-par films...particularly when it comes to dance movies... seriously know one can argue with the epic ending dance in center stage! I mean how on earth did she manage to get into those red point shoes and a whole new outfit in thirty seconds? Dance movie magic that's how!

So naturally when me and my lovely girl friend Carlyn and Katie heard that center stage two Turn It Up!had come out we knew it was time for a girls night. Now of course one movie is never enough so when we went to rent it we picked up make it happen another less known dance movie to give you an idea of the caliber of movie we are dealing with here are the covers...

Now I know what you thinking "dance movies are all the same" but when we popped in Center Stage turn it up! we were epically surprised at the lack of the typical plot! I'm not saying it deviated entirely from the norm but She didn't get into the school ! That's rule number one in tyipical plot lines!

However our worlds were shattered when we popped in Make it Happen and the exact same things were going on in this plot! the same exact changes!!! Not saying they were exactly the same but it was enough to make you wonder is this the new dance plot line? If so who makes that decision? Is my dance movie world forever changed?

Regardless if you are in the mood for some midless dancing romance movies you will not be disappointed with either of these films... you jus may want to space them out more than I did

Life is Beautiful

So last night I finished finals and was basking in the glow of spring breakness today when I encountered the most amazing thing... THE MONARCH BUTTERFLY MIGRATION HAS STARTED!!!!!!!!!! Little known fact about San Luis Obispo is that it is right on the migration path of the monarch butterflies! The hibernate in pismo at the groves all winter looking beautifully like this....
And now they are flying all through San Luis signifing the wonders of springs!!! I spent twenty minutes just standing out watching them fly around and feeling like I was in some wonderous fairy tale! That may just be my five year old side but I have got to say it was a total spirit lifter/ rejuvinator! If anyone is looking for a peaceful pass time I suggest comeing here for some beautiful butterfly watching!

Heavenly water

Thursdays morning I woke up and started the rush through my day. I went to class as usually, met with my boss, and stole a couple hours out of my day to go to the gym. Sweaty and miserable, but feeling quite accomplished, I hurried back to my room to give me the most amount of time possible to clean up and relax in the shower before class. I grabbed my shower caddy hopped, in turned on the faucet and what should hit me but a fountain of ice sickles!

That's right, the hot water was out. Now this has been happening a lot this year with random construction going on around campus sometimes they just shut ours off without warning, cruel and unusual I know, but never has it hit me so completely. This cold water seemed to penetrate my entire being and left me struggling to clean myself just enough as to not horrify my classmates with my odor. I didn't even bother to wet my hair and the sheer fear of the temperature.

This shower left me with a cold feeling that was present through my remaining class and the rest of the night. I worked till two thirty and the whole time i was hoping all the hot water would return so I could wash my hair; but It wasn't until the next day at one in the afternoon that I was able to take that warm shower I had been waiting for. It was the shower to top all showers, and while I wouldn't want to go through that again, I have never felt so clean and relaxed. I could have stayed in that shower forever and I'm pretty sure I have discovered what showers in heaven will feel like!

Blog Fever

After months and months of blog stalking it finally happened....I woke up this morning with blog fever!
For know reason at all I had an extreme need to have a blog. My head was spinning with ideas and titles . As I mulled over all those moments I have thought " I could blog about this" I wondered will my blog live up to my expectations, will it entertain others as those whose wits inspired me to blog. But the fever was strong and without full consciousness I found myself setting this up and now here I am waiting for blog worthy moments for all of you!
